Well... When I saw the last page I thought he was worried she saw him doing such things.
He is worried alright.
Worried she is going to steal his food...
Wonder what Beauty will do now. This is quite a situation. :/
New reader here! I have to say, this page completely terrified me. As in, I'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight.
What I'm trying to say is: AWESOME job with this page! (as well as with the rest of the storytelling so far; I really love your interpretation of this tale!)
He looks utterly terrifying on this page, particularly the last panel. Great job showing such a departure from his usual sweet demeanor; he does look truly beastly here.
Okay, I'll play the outside odds and hypothesize that this threat display is an act, that he's testing her. "You really think I'm not a beast? Are you sure?"
Yes, I know it's more likely that this is part of his curse, but I've always been contrarian. :)
I see where you're coming from Hallan. A few pages ago, where we saw the blood seeping into the castle and Beast was standing right in the entryway, I wondered if this indeed was the Beast testing her. He seems extremely feral here, though. I wonder if he's able to act that well? (But it would make SUCH an interesting dynamic if you're right!)
See, in the last panel I thought you could go one of two ways - with him being mindlessly beastly or with him being crippled by shame or whatnot. I like this route!!
That face 8I too close to halloween for stuff like that, really going all out on the fear, I don't know why, the thing I love mose about the beast is his eyes and yet... they are just so terrifying here, and those teeth look pretty intense too ........ I guess nothing left for Beauty to do but run or knock some sense into him, good luck *hides bravely in corner*
Of course, this page then suggests that he is reacting to someone potentially fighting him for his prey (or that new prey has caught his attention). The Beast is, frankly, quite terrifying as he glares and snarls at Beauty. There isn't any trace of the person we've come to care about up until this point, and it's as disarming and unsettling for Beauty as it is to the readers. We start to fear that maybe a new hunt is going to start, with disastrous consequences....

(Translated: Megan Kearney you've done it again. Just when I think I know where the comic will go, it makes another turn.)
--HELP OMG BEAUTY GET OUTTA THERE GIRL WHY DOESN'T THIS VERSION HAVE AN INTERVENING FAIRY THAT WAY BEAUTY CAN BE POOFED AWAY--
(Translated: This page shows an immense skill in craft and creativity, being able to intimidate readers so much and fear for characters' safety.)

"He's eating her... and then he's going to eat me!
OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!"
Congratulations, Megan, you scared me so badly with Beast's ferocious snarl that my Mom came running into the room asking what was wrong!
It takes true skill to portray that carnivorous nature in him and you have done it perfectly.
Congratulations! I won't sleep tonight.
Thank you for shaking up the storyline a bit .
Beauty: "So, about Ovid... um, you were saying...?"
*it also remembers me of my dog, whenever I give her a bone and pretend I'm catch it from her*
