I can't help but point out that the last panel is clearly the man and not the beast. It's meant to echo the last panel on the previous page, which WAS the beast, but this one has hair and eyebrows. Sorry, I know I sound kind of crazy, but OCD is irritating.
Lavadiamond: This is a discussion forum. Wild speculation and keen observation is what we -do-. :)
Also, has anyone else noticed the panel borders at the bottom right corner? My money's on 'dream, about to wake up'. Maybe one more page on Friday just to properly cliffhanger us. ;)
(They can hear me screaming from the moon!) Oh jeez, I mean, wow, way for him to hallucinate / for his dream to turn into a nightmare, with him seeing the dead Beauty as his prey. Does he fear he might have killed her at the end of the last arc? Does he think he might kill her yet in the future? Is this hallucination paralleling something that actually happened in his past? Did he kill his paramour on sacred ground? Is that why Beauty's naked, to suggest that intimacy or passion is tied into the murder - or in this case is it innocence? I want to say it's innocence. We also see his bloodstained hands (not around the mouth, thanks for sparing us that), which suggests BLOODY MURDER, and naturally he reacts to this all with a major freak out. I do not blame him in the least for that!
Has happened in the flow of
Dangerously woven Lives,
The re-balancing of which
Will require much Blood and Time.

Soon. It's been a cliff hanger since.
...And am I right in thinking this is the first time we've seen the man's eyes instead of his blankly shaded features?
