'Back' to just beyond
The Bannister Bang!

[Was this 'memory rush' news to Beast?]

Ouch. I know that posture and expression. I was wearing it two nights ago after waking from a particularly nasty nightmare. Beautifully drawn, Megan.

These past few pages have been so strong, and I feel so bad for poor Beast!

I would love it if you did a kickstarter sometime in the future for funding to put this amazing story in book format. It would be amazing to have this graphic novel on my bookshelf.

I would totally participate in a kickstarter if it meant I could have a physical copy of this beautiful project when it's done.

I have read this chapter a couple times, and I still find it a little confusing. Can someone explain to me, or will it all make since later.

@texan1972

From what I can tell Beast is having a dream that he's having a flashback while hunting a deer.

In the flasback parts it looks like it's giving us an idea of what his life was like as a human before he became the beast.
If I am reading it right, it looks like he's a prince, and there was a woman (wife or gf?) who was really ticked off at him for some reason and seemed to have made it her mission to make him miserable. (They suspected she had something to do with his dog getting so sick.)

Then in the hunting part the deer turned into Beauty, which doubtless means he's afraid for her for some reason. (perhaps he sleep-hunts, or maybe there is some magic around that can make people look like a deer to him right up until he kills them?)

At least I think they were suspecting the angry woman...

Well, that, or perhaps, his own fear that he is a terrible, gruesome destroyer of innocence is manifesting in his dreams. He sees himself killing a deer that becomes Belle because its an innocent thing, he's afraid he'll ultimately kill her.

a Drop of Beauty
Is it just me or does he seem less..."beastly" in these images and more human?

And if we're back to where we left off at the end of Act One, does that mean that the deer turning into Beauty cued the Beast that he was stalking his houseguest instead of his more typical prey?

And I agree with you, a Drop of Beauty: he definitely seems more human and less beastly on this page. It's as though he's lost both his feral beastly self and his more self-possessed beastly self and what's left is a lost, ragged, very human man.

Love the transition from the last page to this one with respect to the eyes, his hair looks a bit different, though I suppose if it was hanging forward instead of pulleback like usual it might look like this

I am so happy I found this. This is everything I want from a story. Just beautiful.

Ooooh, I love the transition from his human face to his beast one. You can really see the similarities here! Heh. So he's waking up in a room covered in blood and shaking. That's how you know you've had a good night, sir. Gooooood times~! (In all seriousness that would suck and I want to give him a bath and bundle him up in a blanket. Poor guy!)
