Now he's just showing off,
Trying to get the initiative back.

[Not really,
he's probably falling back on honesty in desperation!]

Well, not entirely sure what he was hoping to accomplish here but I'm pretty sure it just fell to pieces.

What are you angry at Beast? Her? Or yourself?
Tuima 14th Jan 2:17 AM, 2014 edit delete reply
Probably not the best tactic there, Beast.

If you didn't convince her last time with the disembowelled deer I doubt you'll meet with any more success now. Excellent character portrayal here; very interesting.

"Promise or no promise, I can't stay here another minute!"

While it may look like a bad tactic, I get the impression he feels like it's the only one he has. If he's going to go through with this, he can't do it on the pretense that he's something that he is not; she needs to come to terms with the fact that he is a beast and then move past it rather than blinding herself to it in an attempt at kindness.

I agree. But I do wonder how he'll determine that she's truly accepted his beast-nature. After all, she might be treating him kindly because she just doesn't understand...or because she *does* understand and has moved past it.

And that makes me curious as to whether he planned this little demonstration ahead of time. Was that part of why he so dreaded entering the room? That he knew he'd have to reinforce his beastly self?

All the frustration and doubt and sadness put into both sides of the conversation, props to beauty for keeping her cool longer than beast did ^^'

Have I mentioned lately that I love your artwork? :)

Uh...Beauty, he is a Beast, as he says. I almost think he does have to scream and snarl at this point to try to get it through her head, if her near-death encounter with his beastly side wasn't enough to make it sink in. That being said, shouting usually isn't the wisest of reactions, Beast, and you're likely to scare her some more by acting this way. We'll see how she handles it....

On another note, as I mentioned elsewhere, I know I'm supposed to be scared by his snarling face, but with that expression, I can help but imagine a fox's cry coming out of his mouth and laughing. I'm a bad, mood-ruining person, I am, XD.

This feels to me like he's trying to be harsh on purpose... Like he's screaming at her to understand what he is. I see that underneath, but still... he's frightening on this page.

come on, Beast. She is just worried. No need to be rude. She got the point already.

When he said he prefers truth to kindness, I nodded my head in agreement... but I didn't think he'd take it quite that far.
