Oh Beast, after steeling yourself for this conversation so much, you're retreating after maybe a minute of conversation? (Sighs.) He does have a good point, though - this is what he is now. And maybe I'm looking too deeply into his words, but is he implying that he had no say in what happened to him, or perhaps that he has tried not to be beastly, but has failed time and again to the point where he has given up on trying to be otherwise? I can't be sure. In any case, I'm glad that Beauty asks him to wait. I'm looking forward to hearing what she's going to say next.
And *I* maintain that it wasn't what you did, Beast, it was the way you handled it.
She probably expected snarling and roaring and eating of helpless deer when she first saw you. You were the one who went out of your way to lull her into a false sense of security.
I've noticed something about Beast...
When Beauty is all "Well, some monsters aren't all bad" he's furious for two reasons.
One: He just is overwhelmed with how WRONG she is. Monsters are evil, period. She should waste her sympathy on someone else.
Two: Even if she truly believed that he had justification for himself and what he is, she would NEVER care for him... love him. Simply because of what he looks like and how he acts.
*whispers* if he couldn't keep a beautiful woman when he was handsome and whole, how will he win anyone's affections now?
Wha...? No, Beast...get back in there. You don't get to just dump that fact on her and leave before she has a chance to respond. (You tell 'im, Beauty!)
“Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy. They do not attack people because they want to, but because of their size and strength, mankind has no other choice but to defend himself.”—Ishiro Honda
than being alone.
Congratulations. :) As one writer to another, you are fantastic.

I do want to hear what she says!
