I like that this is an upfront thing that's being addressed fairly early on in the narrative. I don't know if it's just b/c we, as the audience, generally know the beast's back story but for the heroine to be kept in the dark the whole time without connecting the dots always made her seem a bit dense to me. Glad to see a little bit of a switch up in that respect!

Is it me or is the beast slowly losing his humanity. Because it sounds like he doesn't remember being human and the visions of his real past is becoming the visions of someone else but he's just stuck with the memories of a man, that was a monster and the monster trying to remember to be man. Just speculating.

The Doodler
I had to keep reminding myself of this, but yeah, there's no reason she would know that. At least he isn't magically prevented from telling her--I was afraid of that.

And I'm wondering too if the transformation can't *just* be bodily--because of how he was acting last scene.

I love that "hiiin" sound effect. Such a beautifully animalistic sound of pain, and we've already seen it before with the dog so we connect to that. Beautiful.

I love Beauty's face. The "what *happened*??" is so clear.

thanks, PassiveDragon! I have a lot left to learn, but I've gained a lot overthe course of the story, too. Hope to see you around!

I love that the simplicity of this page---just their faces and expressions---allows the words to stand so starkly. There's definitely a sense of time-standing-still/what-did-you-just-say?!

Hello, I just discovered your comic and I must say it's very impressive. The story and character designs are lovable. And the pacing is good too. I hope you'll continue making this. This is just too good to miss.

Ooooh, now this page. I love how this page changes things. The Beast can't tell her much about who he is or what his past consisted of - but he can tell her he was human! I don't know many different versions of the story, but I don't think I've ever seen a version where Beauty learns that the Beast was human before the curse is broken. Her shocked reaction to this information is just perfect.

OH. Now you have all her attention, Beast. Make use of it!
