Whoa, Virtue, calm down. You know, I believe she's the oldest, so she'd probably remember them "losing everything" the clearest and thus have been the most disturbed by it. And her stress leads to what I can only assume is a premature contraction. Whoops.
I think this page and the next were what made me think, I absolutely must follow this comic" for the first time. I loved the artwork, the characters, and everything, but I still wasn't sure if I'd stick with it. But with the worries causing Virtue's contractions, it just threw a whole new dimension into Beauty's decision. I think it was then that I realized this story was going to be pretty unpredictable. The outline may have been laid out with the original tale, but this would be something that really filled in the gaps and made something magical.
I'm rereading this story again, and this is one of the first times I've identified more with Virtue than with Beauty. I'm now pregnant with my first child, and the idea of something happening to either my parents or my in-laws before them getting to meet their grandchild is awful.
