Running from the past, eh, Beast? You are always too literal.

Ms. Megan, is there gonna be a rival for Beauty's affections in the future? I'm wondering at this point. Is there maybe a childhood friend of Beauty's who maybe likes her as more than a friend?

Beauty is a pretty solitary sort of girl, and I don't think she has really endeared herself to the villagers -- everyone is polite and friendly enough, but she comes from a very different background, and there's always going to be a sense of "otherness" there... And being a sort of wretched 11 year old probably didn't win her any bosom companions among the kids her age.

Beauty's world is primarily made up of her family. She either hasn't sought or really desired any sort of romance, or she's never gotten close enough to anyone to begin seeing them in that light.

Oh golly I'm looking forward to where this flashback sequence is going... love the way you've interspersed it with Beast's current actions @_@

Beast's one weird trick for that trim beach bod: clinical-strength repression.

Yeah, metaceryn. Repression, and some strong PTSD.

Did the palace psychologist turn into a chaise lounge? Or should I say castle priest? Because going to confession was the closest thing to talk therapy back then. . .

LOL I also remembered the scenes of Simba running through landscapes during this page. On a more serious note, the melding between his present day and the flashbacks are seemless here - they're even better than earlier in the story, when scenes from his hunt were juxtaposed with him making love to his lady friend when he was human.
