Have to admit I've got the same face as Beauty right now, because of this chapter's Floral Foreshadowing and the Author's Statement.

I wish I had more exciting comments or insightful or grandiose comments to make other than I love the depth of thought that went into this comic. Every panel, every word of dialogue. I've reread this about three times already aaand I'm about to start over again. Love this Ms Megan!

It's the moment of free-falling detachment you feel when you know you know you're about to be in a car accident, and can only brace for impact.

ACH. how i despise catching up fully on a webcomic only to find its story incomplete that i must wait page-by-page for the remainder.

Okay, so this...complicates things. This does suggest that there are forces which can affect fate - which I suppose makes sense, because even when you leave magic out of it, unforeseeable events like natural disasters and accidents can change the course of someone's life. So there seems to be a magical equivalent to that - and in Beauty's case, it's probably been there since her mother bargained for her life.

As for the "I saw you in the fountain long before you came to me" bit - well this would explain why the Beast seemingly had more affection for her starting out than she did for him. He sort of knew her, though he didn't have any of the details about what kind of person she was or even who she was. It'll be interesting to see where this conversation goes, especially with the renewed hand holding.
