What's the magic word, Beauty?

If the castle does something to Beauty when it's not supposed to I am going to look like Beast in the third panel.

Motivated again!

So, if they (the castle? whatever power he's talking to) can control the reflection to show the Beast this, did they purposely show Beauty his human reflection to instigate the rift that just happened between them?

That was my thoughts all along... Not sure if accurate but possible. *Sighs* Oh what is to become of our beloved babes!

I can see the castle being all, "Pfft, who are you to demand anythings from ME, pipsqueak?"

Well, THAT certainly livened him back up!

Hmm... what I'm wondering is if this is a sneak peek at the future instead of only a taunt/threat. I can't help but think that this could very well be the castle trying to stop Beauty later from getting back to Beast when he's dying. Which would ironically make the vision a weirdly twisted message of hope (by showing that Beauty still cares about him in the future and therefore can potentially break his spell. Maybe the "please" is being said in a "please don't die" way instead of just a "please help me" way. That's the thing about comic format, it's up to readers to interpret the exact tone of dialogue) instead of the threat that Beast thinks it is, seeing as he has no context for the scene in the vision.

I agree! Beauty caught in those thorns makes me think of a somewhat similar scene in the french La Belle et la BĂȘte movie from a few years ago where Belle was also caught in a thicket, pleading to the forest to let her through and get back to the Beast...

A very similar thing happens in the Robin McKinley retelling Rose Daughter.

The castle sure loves to do this kind of thing to Beast, don't it?

Again, I'm pretty sure this is a sneak peek to the future, with the spirit of the castle telling the Beast there is, in fact, hope for Beauty loving him in the future. But it's not providing any sort of context for this vision, so I can see why the Beast would consider it a threat and react accordingly.

So he cannot be loved - again - and he should have known from the beginning. But when somethings threatens his loved one, he still shreds everything to pieces.

Before he told Beauty, she cannot have what she is looking for, because he is not fully there as she Pictures him, cannot give her what she is looking for.

But actually he is willing to give everything. Was he lying to himself then? Or wrong presumptions everywhere but the foundation is solid?
