Hm, I'm actually surprised the castle isn't forcing Beast to admit what the full price of Beauty's freedom is though now that I think about it, the castle's only been able to prevent him from telling her things, not forcing him to admit what he'd otherwise conceal. Not to mention that in other stories with magical contracts, the one making the contract isn't always compelled to reveal the full details of it.
Not sure why I went off on this tangent to be honest...

I keep reminding myself that even though emotions are all over the place right now, there's plenty of time for things to level out and end happily.

So, everyone else getting the feeling that the seven days till it's "finalized" are the seven days Beauty has to amend the contract before the Beast dies?
Sophi(e)a 14th Jun 4:37 PM, 2016 edit delete reply
Yep, that's exactly how I read it.

I agree. Add in the fact that in the original story, Beauty stayed more than a week at her father's home (that being one extra day) before she realized her feelings, and you've got a good parallel to the original fairytale.
Sophi(e)a 16th Jun 1:01 PM, 2016 edit delete reply
That is definitely the parallel we're seeing here. I am excited to see how it plays out in this story, both the similarities and the differences.

Please tell me she'll hit Beast with her injured hand.

Found this a few days ago. It was clear pretty quick that I wouldn't be able to put it down, but at the same time, I was hoping I wouldn't catch up before it was done, 'cause I didn't want to have to wait for more.

Well... now that I'm caught up, there's only one thing I can do. It's time to add this to my bookmarks with the other comics I'm hoping to finish. <3

Why do I feel like he's either going to be dead or full beast in seven days?

The leaves are falling. Have the leaves ever fallen in this castle/ garden area. I remember petals and rain, but those are all springtime item. Has autumn come to the Beast?

The deal won't be finalized for a week--is that also how long Beauty has to change her mind and come back? That would definitely be a shorter amount of time than the one-two month time periods in other versions of the story, but maybe I'm misinterpreting what he means by that line.

"So if I wanted t-to...I could go n-now?" God that hurts to read for his sake, though I can understand why she's excited. No doubt he will take that as a form of rejection, though. As for the leaves falling...has that ever happened before in this place? It usually seems to stay in the spring/summer seasons, so does this autumnal look mean that some of the magic here is dying, along with the Beast? Or is this just meant to be visual foreshadowing?
