Oh yes. Definitely different. In fact, I dare say there may be something there that wasn't there before. need to shove, I'll see myself out.

Megan, for what it's worth, I'm genuinely appreciative that you didn't make the sisters the jealous overbearing types that they were in the original - it just would have been exhausting.

This Family is like a clockwork. Everyone has his place and when a Piece is missing the rest starts to fall apart.

The Doodler
I totally would have hit my head on that ceiling.
Also, I love how protective her sisters are.

Yes, this is much nicer than witchy sisters who rub their eyes with onions to fake cry so their sister will stay longer. Sadly, the sisters of Beauty in most tellings are consistent with this image, or are taken out altogether. It's refreshing to have sisters who care about each other, rather than yet another trope of female cattiness toward each other.

My goal with a lot of the story, but with the sisters especially, was to write something that felt like it could be the much-trimmedbasis for the truncated version of the fairy tale that is common -- to give them enough traits that if really, really simplified could come across as "wicked" when really it's more that Virtue is a bit smothering and Temperance lacks tact... In some places I just wound up meandering off once the characters came into their own, but in other places I've sort of stuck to it.

I really appreciate that Family of different temperaments working together as a clockwork that starts to fall apart when one Piece is missing.
I hope they Support Beauty when they realize, she is in love. With them knowing her in good Hands all is good with the clockwork. Only the missing mother is an issue...
Some convincing and revealing to be done. And quick.

Evenue the most caring and we'll meaning family members can be suffocating and toxic at times. I wonder if that will happen to Beauty?

I can't be certain of where I left off exactly, but from the date on this page, I can tell that I'm now venturing into the parts of this comic that I haven't read yet. So, from here on in, it's all new territory to me.

I feel like the sisters must have discussed what could be happening and could have happened to Beauty many times before this. I'm glad they're willing to take Beauty on her word that "nothing traumatic happened," but that they're also noticing that she's different from who she used to be. It makes sense that they would notice something like that.
