Wow, guys! I've been LOVING reading your conversations in the comments since last week! I'm trying to keep my trap shut and not give too much away!

Unrelated, but if any of you Dear Readers are in Toronto this weekend, we are hosting a little donation drive and tea-party get-together at my studio this Sunday, to benefit a local girl's shelter. check out http://www.comicbookembassy.com for location!

...Does the tally of her steps
Added up from then to here,
Mark up to her memory
And slowly placate her fears?..

(Thank you so much* for sharing
this elegant diversion
with us, out beyond the Wall!)

It's entirely my pleasure, and becomes more so all the time.

The elegance of your linework and the way you are handling this story are truly fantastic. I can't wait to see more.

Your line variation to intone depth on the first panel makes me truly gleeful.

Thank you! I've been trying to be conscious of line weight! I used to be victim of skinny manga lines.

Yes indeed.
If Beast keeps feeding Beauty so well,
He will soon have her conditioned!

Chrysanthemums?
Daisies?
Other?
Color?
Significant?
MsMegan 14th Dec 1:24 PM, 2012 edit delete reply
MsMegan
It is, in fact, a bouquet of pink and white xeranthemum and starwort!

'Cheerfulness under adversity
and
Welcome to a stranger'

Beast seems a methodical fellow.
If he is 'speaking',
Then Beauty must have 'ears' to hear...

I love how you're including the language of flowers.

Are you a fan of Jeff Smith? Your art reminds me of Bone.
MsMegan 15th Dec 1:47 PM, 2012 edit delete reply
MsMegan
I do love Bone! I also really admire Ted Naifeh and Linda Medley. However, I think the style I'm working in now has more to do with my animation training than anything else -- clarity and lineweight are really drilled into you there!

Really elegant art work, skor, is right it does remind me of bone as well.

Ohhhh, more flowers, and apparently they're the sort that acknowledges her struggle and welcomes her, according to their meanings. Also, I want a magic breakfast. Look at all of that fruit....

I get the impression that Beauty's being very delicate here, like I am when I'm in a nice house and I hear a voice saying, "Don't touch anything, don't break anything!" in my head. Was she feeling the expensive sheets in that bottom panel? It seems the slumber has eased her heart a little.
