I'm so happy!! I'm so happy she said it, and I'm so proud of her for sitting down with her family and being brave, facing them with all her thoughts and feelings instead of just running off. Way to go miss Beauty, you've grown up so much.
I have more feeling a than I expected to about this. I absolutely am super-excited that Beauty has admitted this to herself and her family, but Ms. Megan has done such an excellent job of fleshing out Beauty's family that their feelings on the subject do make sense and don't seem... trite, I guess? Like, they're not just a foregone conclusion; I can really put myself on their shoes, which isn't something I'm always able to do.
I mean, pretty much all of the act 3 pages so far have given me a serious case of the feels, but this is just taking that and building on it further. And I'm perfectly okay with that--that is the hallmark of great writing.
Beauty, we're all so proud of you! I'm glad she decided to talk things out with her fam. I was worried for a sec that she might run away again. And squeee! She said the words!!!!! I can die happy now! (no, wait, nope. Gotta make sure she saves Beast first)
Oh man, this page. This is so great. First, Virtue, you being Beauty's family has nothing to do with this. Beauty isn't rejecting you by wanting to go back--she just has a life outside of you guys now. Which I know probably feels weird, especially coming from your baby sister, but she had to grow up someday. Now she has.
"Because you think a beast loves you?!"--The implication of this is that her family thinks that Beauty feels like she owes the Beast something for loving her. They would be in the right to be concerned about this if, say, the Beast was more along the lines of a Nice Guy TM/Gaston kind of character. But she doesn't want to go back just for him. She wants to go back for her own sake too.
I love how quietly she says "Because I think I might love him." It's not overwrought or trite at all. It's just honest and so much more meaningful for it.
