Legit gasped at seeing this. Both because I'm happy you're well enough to post (but please take it easy because I think the glorious payoff of this page might hold us all for the next couple weeks), but because this is the moment I've been waiting for. Well, hopefully only the start of it. You know what I mean.

I'm gonna go squee at this some more.

My brain immediately fast-forwarded to (SMUSH) "Ooof... Beast, you're really heavy..."

That was the garden 's plan all along. Squish the intruder by dropping a heavy object on her.

I don’t know what it is but that frame of Beauty catching him is my favorite image of them together ever. Something about the action and his face and her pose I just love it all.

It's interesting that the vines release the Beast here, after Beauty assures them that she won't hurt the Beast. When we first saw them, I had thought that they were something bad- a negative consequence of the contract he made. But if the vines were trying to protect him all along, why suspend him above the fountain? Would the fountain's magic extend his life a bit? Are the vines trying to fill in the hole where his heart should be?

Also, plants = his literal heart, but also his metaphorical one. Plants were a refuge for Argus as a human and as a beast. He was able to create new life and simply enjoy that work, even when he felt that he had nothing else.

Part of me wonders if plants will save the Beast's life now- for example, if there's something in his old plant journal that could help him. The new life that comes from plants seems promising. While we don't know the terms of the new contract, it seems that the Beast could only become human again if his heart were restored. How that would happen, I'm not sure, but I suspect it will involve the two great loves of his life: Beauty and plants.

Then again, we could have weird magic, mysterious reappearance of Swan Mom, etc. Anything's possible!

New reader, devoured this comic in less than a week. While I would have liked to discover it earlier, I have to say I'm glad that I missed the years of suspense and I could just binge your lovely comic in one go! Of course the suspense now is rough, but I really have nothing to complain about compared to the longtime readers. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us- you're an incredibly talented artist and writer.

So the vines release the Beast into Beauty's care (interesting that he was bound to the fountain--it was hard to tell that was the case from the angle on the last few pages). I want to tell Beauty "good catch!", though given how heavy the Beast must be, I'm pretty sure she's about to get the wind knocked out of her. Still, such a relief for her to be holding onto him now!
