This is such a gut-wrenching page, but I so want to laugh at the author's note!

"Bring me to life..."
So wonderful to hear her call him by name! Great emotional scene. I can't wait for this to be complete and get to reread it in one sitting.

Much as I enjoyed all the "now kiss!" comments of last page, I was thinking this was what this was really going towards: grief at losing the one you love, and knowing that you really only just got to know and love their true self... Aaargh. This is so beautiful and so heart wrenching. My hat is, as ever, off to you, Ms Megan, for tugging heartstrings with your art, even when we know what's coming.

The glassy hill I clamb for thee,
Thy bloody clothes I wrang for thee;
And wilt thou not waken and turn to me?"

Beauty must be descended from K039, whose tears have magical healing abilities, if Power Rangers In Space/Lost Galaxy is anything to go by.

My friend and I love this comic but this is why we also call the Beast AARGH-us, cause of how many times the feels hit us. Hard.
Also I'm feeling more my immortal right now than bring me to life personally...

“You’ve lost your heart and you won’t be released from your bondage without one.”

In just about any other retelling, I’d assume that Beauty's love - the Beast “having her heart” -would do the trick. (This is assuming that Swan Mom's observation is correct, though I see no reason to think that it was not.)

However, since it's been pretty well established that the Beast lacks a heart in the physical sense, perhaps even more than in the metaphorical sense, love alone may not be sufficient. These contracts seem like tricky things, not so simple as “find someone to love you as you are and you’ll be human again” or “if she lets you join her in bed, you're back to normal.”

The not knowing for sure what is needed to save the Beast is fascinating.

Hi, it's been a little while since I've read through the comic, when did Beauty figure out the name Argus? Can't remember. :/
Fluffy 18th Jan 1:04 AM, 2018 edit delete reply
Back in Act 2, she read the name "Argus" in the floral journal she had found in the castle and got quite the reaction out of Beast. The fountain also showed a vision of him as a child where his mother referred to him as "Argus" (she claims she didn't see the vision but she most likely said that to make the Beast not worry). I am assuming from there, Beauty just connected the dots and came to the conclusion that that was his name.

I have been reading this gorgeous and heart-moving work for over a year now and have been too shy to say anything. I wish to tell you that you are able to bring out so much emotion with each page, thus bringing emotion from me (and I think all of us). I have laughed, cried, and am now holding my breath to see what happens next to your characters that I hold so dear.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us, MsMegan!
