Awww sweet moment here for Beauty:). I almost expect a beautiful music tone here at the final panel

"We might not have what others do, but we might have something different" makes my heart ache with some sort of soft and cozy happiness.

Her optimism is so precious it is addicting.

Meanwhile he's on another panel ready to destroy himself.

Atta girl! He's yours and you are his and that's what matters!

Still not sure if this means Argus will be human again or not.

Beauty goes from a precious child in the third panel to looking suddenly mature/confident in the last panel, and I love it. She's still her parents' little girl but she's grown so much. Swan Mom should be proud.

Ahhh, this is so precious! (And hey, why let a mysterious magical contract get in the way of finding your soulmate?)
Beauty's speech in the final panel very much reminded me of "Fruits Basket" and CLAMP's works (particularly "Cardcaptor Sakura" & "Chobits")-- love and relationships come in all forms and between all types. Love and happiness between two people is what matters, not what the world says is "normal".

And Happy Pride while we're on the subject.

Just want to make sure I'm on the same page - Beauty and Swom are talking right now as if the Beast will never look any different than he does now (i.e. furry)? Or are they just discussing the emotional fallout of his life and her recent experience?

I've gotta believe it's the latter.

I feel it's more the emotional side of things (after all, they met under *very* strange circumstances), but at the same time, does Beauty realise Beast might change back to a human? Or does she believe he is stuck like this and she will therefore start a relation with someone who is bound to a magical castle?
I don't recall anything that suggests one way or the other.

I feel like the story doesn’t work if Beauty expects Beast to eventually turn back into a human. That’s the challenge of letting her know that he wasn’t always a beast before he transforms. I think it has to be “I love you as you are with no excpectation that you will ever be anything other than what you are now” and not “I love you with the hope or understanding that my love can turn you human again.”

I don’t think Beauty is expecting him to turn back into a human at this point. Swom may have some idea that it could happen, but there are still things that aren’t certain yet. She tells Beauty that Beast needs to save himself and the best either of them can do is hope that he makes the right decision. She doesn’t tell her that everything is going to be okay.

All right, I have finished with my exhaustively thought-out, extremely intelligent comments for today.

Beauty, Swan Mom definitely can't judge, seeing as how she was in an interspecies relationship herself. Swan Mom does rightly point out that Beauty and the Beast making the relationship work might be difficult. There are the physical differences to take into account (since as far as they know, the Beast can't return to being human), the potentially hostile and discriminatory reactions of the people around them (if they leave the castle), the continued machinations of the castle (if they stay in the castle), and aaaaaall of the Beast's emotional baggage, which he is still in the process of working through. But Beauty's response is very sweet and mature. She doesn't know what they'll be getting into, and maybe it won't work, but she wants to try anyway. Again, it's touching, and it makes me feel hopeful that things will go well for them. They've already overcome a lot in getting this far, after all.
