A disturbing Dream.
Unpleasant Reality.
Where falls the moment?

How long you been workin' on that beard, cattservant?

Oh, that's a decade old picture.
("I was so much older then/I'm younger than that now!")
Here is one of me in a past life...

Ahh...
That is an answer of significant metaphysicality!

I'm going to guess that it is either a dream or a memory, with the former being the more probable.

AH! This is so interesting. I love the sound effects. I could practically hear the wave crashing against the sides of the ship.

Ah, drat, I missed commenting on the previous two pages. My apologies, Megan! I'll have to go back and do that soon. In any case, to comment on this page. I was uncertain as to whether this was a flashback or a dream earlier, and my inclination now, given the gentle way her name is being said, is that she's having a nightmare about past events, which she'll soon be prompted out of. I find it interesting that this implies she's familiar with being on a ship. This may be referring to the idea that her father, as a merchant, lost most of his wares and wealth on a risky business endeavor, with the boat...sinking, was it? I forget how exactly it goes, but the failure of the trip led to the family's original ruin. From the looks of it, Beauty may have been with him on that trip - then again, this could just be what she imagines happened. I will say this dream/flashback originally caught me off caught, but it's a good glimpse into her past and seems to be wrapping up. I'm interested in seeing where this will go!

On another note, there's something I'd like to discuss with you sometime, possibly over Tumblr. I'm nervous about it, quite frankly, but I should bring it up sometime nonetheless. Excuse me, I'm rambling. XD

In any case, I can't wait until Friday!

Sincerely,
Abby

You (and anyone else, for that matter!) can always drop me a note on tumblr (www.batbcomic.tumblr.com) , PM me via comicfury, or email me at batbcomic@gmail.com! But I must admit, I'm curious now.

This is absolutely beautiful. I love your style, classic and sharp. reminds me a bit of Hergé's "clear line"

Oh my goodness...could it be? Is someone going to make an appearance?! There is only two ways I can see this going, and both make me excited!!!

Also, at the risk of double commenting, I kind of love the 4th panel and her shoulder pad/covers.

Dang, look at that ship! *admires the movement in panel two*

Haha, these ships are so poorly researched and shoddy! I'm a terrible sailor's daughter. (although, another ship-caught-in-storm sequence from a separate project landed me an interview with pixar back when I was a student)

Loving the mystery and layout, you have me wondering if there's special significance behind her shawl looking like wings.

Could it be made of actual waterproof feathers?
(if this be memory...)

She looks a bit too confused in the first panel for a memory... And I love that panel, by the way. There's something about her hair and how expressive her face is, plus the dress, that just speaks to me.

I found the link to this on TaijaVigilia's tumblr page, and I love all things Beauty and the Beast, so it didn't take me long to get through. The design is intriguing and fun to look at. I hope to see (and comment) more. :)

This drew me right in (sigh...no pun intended...bother). I feel almost as though I'm on that ship with Beauty...and I definitely just winced when she hit the mast. Excellent.

A lot of motion in this one, and someone (I already know who) is calling out Beauty's name. I'm just going to say that there is no possible way she should have been up on deck in this kind of storm, but that's kind of the point - it's dangerous. Next page.
sheshallnotbenameless 25th Aug 12:32 AM, 2013 edit delete reply
That last panel is a great combination of what I imagine to be fear of the storm and yearning. But I also wonder if there's a bit of fear in her hearing the voice, once she discovers who the voice's owner is? I'm not sure why I get that impression.
