Love everything. The conversation, the expressions, the silhouette, everything.

The Doodler
If he's an Aeschylus fan too, I'm gonna make undignified squee-ing noises.

I was worried it got a little too squash-and-stretch-y compared to the rest, but then I decided to roll with it.

I think she just genuinely surprised him.

Ovid and Apelius, romance and transformation, what a coincidence!

Aw, his face in the last panel truly shows his genuine surprise and perhaps a little bit of admiration. They found something in common! Hurrah! Ovid wrote the Heroides, which is about corageous women... Beauty. clever!

I love how they're leaning toward one another. Sigh. (Books, man. Books bring people *together*.)

Oh my god this is a long chapter, XD. Anyway, so this page just delights me. They're bonding over Roman authors! Beauty looks especially pretty in that second panel - I think you could make a shampoo commercial with her hair, Megan - and then there's the Beast's delighted and admiring expression ("Best. Contractee. Ever."). It's just! And yes, I like how they're leaning towards each other, too. We get a little more information about her past - that they were wealthy enough to have tutors and had to sell their books when everything fell apart. Man, whatever happened to their family was /harsh/. I can't wait to learn more of the details.

The skepticism on Beast's face really says a lot. But Beauty seems to take it in stride. That says a lot about her, I think.

Apelius also wrote the story of Eros and Psyche!

I have not heard of either writer but now I can look them up and find my next books to read. This may be a good resource for my next classic book to read.
