I hope everyone likes angst, because that's what's on the menu for the next thirty or forty pages.

Mmmmm, delicious, delicious angst. That's right, poor that rich maple syrup of sadness alllllll over these narrative pancakes. Mmmmm.

I would say, "See you all next month," and plan to wait till I can binge this chapter and move on, but let's face it: I'm addicted, and I will gladly grab any additional story no matter how much it hurts.

The feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeels.

If the 'angst' is within reason and not dragged out for pity, I don't mind it.

I'm just going to prepare myself for angst, and hope it's not too painful.

Great, I binge-read the whole thing and then find that I'm catching up at the pre-climatic "dip" of despair. ARGH. I don't like the idea of so much angst, but it is necessary, I know.

I find these sad reflections just as compelling as the happy moments, to be honest. His angst makes sense. A few days (Weeks? Who can be sure? It's Magic, after all...) of happiness won't undo years of mental scarring and isolation. It's going to take time for things to turn out right and I enjoy seeing you delve into his psyche.

Ooooooouch. I personally don't mind this angst, given that it makes sense for it to arise in this situation, both from the ambiguity in his and Beauty's relationship, as well as the history of abuse he's been put through. It's clear how much he loathes himself in this page and how much he resents the power in charge of the castle. Though I wouldn't say there's no hope, Beast--but then again, I know how your story is supposed to end. You don't.

As a side note, I love how he's drawn in the third panel.

I am not sure how to read the word "angst" here. I would translate it to anxiety, fright, fear.

There is always a risk when you open the Cage. No bird came back, ever.

is that cruelty coming from the Castle or from his childhood experience with his mom repeating again and again. The try to be loved and then being pushed away, hurts again and again. Always hope and despair.

So, he does love her, thats why it hurts so much. Poor beast.
