Hey Dear Readers! Sorry about the previous update. I'm not sure where I borked up the upload, but it should be fixed now. Thanks for your patience!

I'm enjoying the talk, I'm just wondering what this will lead to afterwards
Sybilla J 2nd Jun 8:48 AM, 2017
I think this talk was a long time coming and everything he's saying here really, really needed to be said. Maybe it's just leading to healing for their family and a better understanding of each other? Which is a good thing, and very much needed during this chapter when bad things are happening elsewhere.... :/

A+ dad, I like how you're doing with this.
Fluffy 2nd Jun 1:24 AM, 2017
"Your problems are just as real as any!" Beauty's dad knows what's up. Sadly, I feel like this sort of thing in general is not said enough. Everyone's problems are valid no matter how big or small they may seem.

Unless, like, it's a small kid throwing a tantrum cause it didn't get a toy it wanted.

Cat, you know fine well that wasn't Fluffy's intent when she wrote that comment. There's no need to be snarky.
Cat 3rd Jun 10:45 AM, 2017
Can't help it, snarking or mocking something is kind of in my nature.

Dad, look up the definition of Stepford Smiler.

Yay double pages!

You know, her dad looks a little like Argus in human form. And that precious line about Beauty being the heart of the family, wonder if that means something?

I love how you've put so much time into fleshing out the dynamics of this family. People who love each other, but still make mistakes and hurt each other without realizing it. Beautiful work, as always.

Oh man, this family has had some communication problems in the past. I get it, though, especially where Beauty is concerned. It sounds like she prefers to keep her wounds private, rather than "trouble" someone by sharing her hurts with them. I do the same thing, but it's definitely not a healthy way of dealing with pain.

It sounds like her sisters contributed to this tendency of hers by telling Beauty not to bother their father unnecessarily (since he was under a lot of stress at the time), but that backfired by making her reluctant to go to him for anything. So I'm glad that Not Swan Dad is correcting this now, by telling Beauty that of course her problems are real and that they matter to him. Maybe she'll feel more comfortable communicating with him now--and maybe she'll stop invalidating her own feelings as well.
