How do you draw dads?? Um... just like that.

Depending on the dad, more anger/frustration, less distress. But Beauty's dad seems to be less prone to agitation, and perhaps more prone to rumination. Which(!) is reflected nicely here.

Keeping a brave face so you won't upset people is one thing, failing to imagine a near family member might at least want an update on if you've been horribly murdered, etc., is another. >_>

good dad is good ; - ;

new reader here (even if it's close to the end!). you have an incredible talent for script and pacing (not to mention the beautiful art) -- you should be very proud of your work! i look forward to seeing the conclusion, and can't wait to see what you do next.

I sense a hug coming.

...At least, I hope that's where this is going :/

"I don't know my girls at all!" he wails, as he makes a conversation that started as "gee honey, this is your Upset Spot, are you ok?" all about him...

Was just thinking that myself too. ;)

To be fair, Not Swan Dad, you were delirious with fever when Beauty left, so even if she wanted to tell you about her plan, I'm not sure you would have been able to process what she was saying. She had no excuse where her sisters were concerned, though. XD

But he's also right--Beauty could have been eaten by the Beast for all her family knew, so of course they were upset. "I don't know what situation you've been in"--playing chess, reading, and gardening mostly. So not dissimilar from what she would have been doing at home. Since she hasn't shared that, though, her family are free to imagine awful things to fill in the silence and that gap in time.

"I don't know my girls at all"--but he knew that this is where Beauty goes when she's upset. So he knows her at least a little.
